Protector of the House

That is what I am. While my dad is gone, I am the protector of the house. I have to make sure that nobody gets hurt and that everybody is safe. That is my job, right? I have no idea how long he will be gone for, but I sure hope that he will come back soon! It is really difficult to take care of everybody else because I also get scared sometimes (well quite often actually), but that is besides the point. It is especially difficult at night because every little sound I hear scares me and I have to make sure that it is not something dangerous. I have a few favorite spots where I like to sit and watch everything.

I enjoy laying here on my bed because I can see most everything. I can see the door and what everybody is doing downstairs, so I know that they are safe.

Another favorite is the landing on the stairs. I can see the door even more clearly and still have a great view of everyone in the house. I know that my family can be safe even when my dad is gone. It is tough, but someone has to do it!
